There are seasons when we find ourselves living between worlds. Between the person we have been and the one we are becoming. Between cultures, homes, relationships, ways of knowing. Between an ending we can feel and a beginning we cannot yet name.
Sometimes we carry several truths at once. Grief alongside curiosity. Longing alongside relief. A desire to move forward alongside a tenderness for what we are leaving behind.
Straddling the Veil is an invitation to spend an afternoon inside that in-between. To explore what becomes possible when we give ourselves room to inhabit the unknown, rather than rushing to find our way out of it.
Inspired by liminality and Nepantla, a concept of living between worlds, this gathering invites us to explore the thresholds we inhabit through sound, plants, ritual, reflection, creativity, and the company of others.
For one afternoon, Dandelion House becomes a living landscape of experiences. Different rooms hold different invitations, each offering another way to listen to what is moving within us.
We will begin together before moving into two guided encounters of your choosing, held by four practitioners across the house:
Herbal Ritual + Making with Vanessa Rosage
Gather around the kitchen table for a hands-on herbal experience exploring our relationship with plants, nourishment, and the resources we carry into a new season. Through making and sensory exploration, consider what you are gathering, what you wish to preserve, and what you are ready to tend.
Sound, Vibration + Somatic Listening with Sonali Krish
Enter an interactive exploration of sound and the body. Through movement, breath, vibration, and live instruments, notice what draws you closer, what asks for distance, and what becomes available when you give yourself permission to respond.
Mirror Work + Witnessing with Gabrielle
Explore the identities you have carried, the ways you have learned to see yourself, and the experience of being witnessed while you are still becoming. An invitation into reflection and connection through guided mirror work.
Ritual + Embodied Reflection with Felicia De-La Garza Mercer
Enter a space for ritual and reflection rooted in Felicia’s practice. An invitation to explore what we carry through times of transition and how ritual can help us mark and move through a threshold.
After our guided encounters, the house opens.
The kitchen becomes a place to return for plants, tea, and conversation. Sound continues to move through the outdoor space, inviting you to listen, rest, or respond. Other rooms offer quieter opportunities for reflection and witnessing.
You may encounter an unfinished collective collage, a poem growing through the contributions of strangers, or a tarot card waiting beside a question you hadn’t thought to ask. Explore herbal tarot decks, sit with a plant, make something with your hands, or find a quiet corner to spend a few moments with yourself.
There will be more invitations than you have time to accept. Part of the afternoon is discovering which ones call to you.
As our time together draws to a close, sound will call us back into the same room. We will gather around what has been created and shared, returning to community after each finding our own way through the house.
We may be standing at different thresholds, carrying different histories and moving toward different futures. For an afternoon, we can meet one another here.
**Registration is limited to 24 guests. After checkout you will select your two preferred guided encounters from the available session times. Each session has limited capacity, so earlier registration offers the widest selection.
