You are invited to journey home to yourself - through the wisdom of the chakras.

For five nights on Costa Rica’s Nicoya Peninsula, one of the world’s rare Blue Zones, we’ll gather at Salvatierra Retreat Center, where jungle meets sea. This retreat is an invitation to step away from the noise of everyday life and return to the body, the breath, and the subtle intelligence within.

Through yoga, somatic practices, sound healing, ritual, and creative exploration, we’ll work with the chakra system as a living map - guiding us toward nervous system regulation, energetic alignment, and embodied wholeness. Each day offers space to listen inward, release what no longer serves, and reconnect with the rhythms that support presence, clarity, and trust.

A Journey Home Through the Chakras is hosted and facilitated by Sonali Krish, LPC-A, founder of Sona Shala, and supported by nervous-system–informed guest practitioners.

Blending movement and stillness, nature immersion and reflection, this retreat offers a deeply held container for transformation and renewal. It is open to anyone and everyone - no prior yoga, meditation, or chakra experience required - and invites you to meet yourself exactly where you are, with curiosity, compassion, and care.

Salvatierra Boutique Retreat
will be our home for the week - a sanctuary where practice, play, and rest flow seamlessly together. Each day we journey through a different chakra, blending yoga, meditation, somatic tools, creative expression, and ceremony. From grounding movement and sound baths to cacao rituals, authentic relating, and ocean meditations, every offering is designed to guide you deeper into balance and belonging.

Your experience will include:

  • Daily Chakra-Themed Yoga & Somatic Practices — fiery vinyasa, restorative yin, pranayama, and yoga nidra woven with nervous system awareness

  • Creative & Reflective Practices — chakra fan-making, vision boards, letter-to-self journaling, authentic relating games

  • Ritual & Ceremony — cacao under the stars, fire & water rituals, vow of silence, crown closing ceremony in white

  • Nature Immersion — meditation under the stars, ocean swims, jungle hikes, beach seva (service), time to rest in tidal pools

  • Integration — sound baths, group dialogue circles, prompts for reflection, and space for solitude

All meals are chef-prepared and Blue Zone–inspired, sourced locally and often grown on-site. Vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free options are always available. Snacks, smoothies, fruit, coffee, and tea are served throughout the day.

Our eco-luxury cabinas (single or double occupancy) include private baths and natural bath amenities. Saltwater pools, hammocks, and the open-air yoga shala invite moments of deep rest. Massages and excursions are available for purchase. WiFi is accessible throughout the property, though we encourage time offline.

Day 1 — Arrival & Root Chakra

  • Check-in with fresh coconut water

  • Evening welcome circle, restorative vin-yin, sound bath + introduction to Muladhara (foundation, safety, grounding)

Day 2 — Sacral Chakra

  • Sunrise flow + pranayama

  • Creative ritual

  • Blindfolded intuitive movement + floating sound bath

  • Evening sacral meditation & water ritual

Day 3 — Solar Plexus Chakra

  • Morning breathwork & somatics for empowerment + heat

  • Midday: excursions or private Reiki

  • Evening bonfire + fire ritual (release + intention)

Day 4 — Heart Chakra

  • Myofascial release + self-massage flow

  • Partner yoga & authentic relating practices

  • Evening cacao ceremony + metta meditation

Day 5 — Throat & Third Eye Chakras

  • Optional vow of silence into breakfast

  • Seva: beach clean-up as meditation

  • Vision board workshop + guided visualization

  • Evening chanting + vibrational release

Day 6 — Crown Chakra & Departure

  • Morning white-clothed tea ceremony + candlelit yoga nidra

  • Closing integration circle + 7-ray meditation

  • Farewell breakfast + shuttle to Liberia

Together, Sonali and Tylee offer a complementary and integrative approach to A Journey Home Through the Chakras —blending holistic insight, embodied practice, and energetic awareness into a cohesive, grounded retreat experience. Their shared intention is to create a container that is spacious, supportive, and deeply human — one that invites you to meet yourself exactly where you are and gently explore what it means to come home, layer by layer.

Sonali Krish

Founder of Sona Shala | Somatic Practitioner | Yoga & Sound Facilitator

Sonali Krish is the founder of Sona Shala, a golden sanctuary for embodied wellness devoted to helping people reconnect with themselves through nature, movement, ritual, sound, and community. Sonali weaves together somatic psychology, mindfulness, nervous system education, and ancient wisdom traditions to create experiences that are both grounding and transformative.

As the daughter of Indian immigrants, Sonali's work is deeply inspired by the intersection of culture, spirituality, and the universal human longing to belong. Her retreats invite participants to slow down, reconnect with the rhythms of nature, and remember the innate wisdom already living within them.

Known for her warm, intuitive presence, Sonali creates spaces where people can soften, breathe, laugh, reflect, and be witnessed in community. Through yoga, meditation, sound healing, somatic practices, creative exploration, and meaningful conversation, she guides others in returning home - not to a place, but to themselves.

Whether gathered beneath the Costa Rican jungle canopy, beside the ocean, or in circle with one another, her intention remains the same: to cultivate experiences that leave people feeling more connected to themselves, to one another, and to the natural world.

Tylee Personett

E-RYT 500 | Certified Holistic Health Coach | Whole-Body Wellness Guide

Tylee Personett is a 500-hour Registered Yoga Teacher (E-RYT 200/500), YACEP, and Certified Holistic Health Coach with over 20 years of personal yoga practice and more than 5 years of professional teaching experience. Her work is rooted in whole-body wellness, somatic embodiment, and nervous system regulation, guiding individuals toward deeper self-trust, clarity, and sustainable transformation.

Tylee is the creator of the Whole-Body Wellness Blueprint, a five-pillar framework integrating movement, nourishment, intuition, mindset, and embodied awareness. She has taught thousands of students across a wide range of bodies and settings — including studio classes, private sessions, corporate wellness, workshops, retreats, and Yoga Teacher Trainings — and has coached clients through major life transitions since 2018.

Her work is deeply informed by the chakra system as both an energetic map and a practical tool for self-inquiry and integration. Rather than approaching the chakras as abstract concepts, Tylee invites an experiential relationship with each center through movement, breath, nutrition, reflection, and intuitive listening. She helps participants translate subtle energy into tangible awareness, embodied choice, and grounded action.

Tylee’s facilitation style is warm, spacious, and deeply present. She is known for creating environments where people feel safe to slow down, listen inward, and reconnect with their innate wisdom. She believes healing happens not through force, but through alignment — with the body, the nervous system, and the natural rhythms of life.
